Elliott Salmon
Icicle Broadcasting
General Manager
A true Washingtonian, born and raised in Wenatchee, Elliott discovered his passion for radio broadcasting at a young age. At fifteen, he began his radio career as a weekend evening board operator at KPQ-AM/FM in Wenatchee. His first break as a DJ came when he was asked to hosting a live, Top-40 music, call-in program airing weekday evenings on KWWW-FM (KW3), which was owned by Seattle-based Fisher Broadcasting. During his high school and junior college education, Elliott put in six years of on-air duties to hone his radio skills. To take his education further, Elliott was accepted by Washington State University with a major in Broadcast Management and minor in Business Administration.
After receiving his BA from WSU, he joined Icicle Broadcasting, headquartered in Leavenworth, Washington. He worked his way up through the ranks to attain his General Manager position at Icicle Broadcasting, overseeing the operations of KOHO-FM, KOZI-AM/FM and Z-Country 94.7. Under his leadership, all of the Icicle Broadcasting stations take being the “Hometown Radio” commitment seriously. The good that the Icicle stations have been able to provide for the local community is the most gratifying part of his job. He considers himself extremely lucky of being able to work in radio, an industry that continues to evolve with the ever-changing technology.
Elliott lives in Wenatchee with his wife and two small girls. He enjoys a wide range of hobbies and interests. Near the top of his favorites are reading, golfing, and gardening.
Elliott was recently recognized as a recipient of the Wenatchee World’s 35-Under 35 upcoming leaders award.
